What we collect
Nothing. We collect no information about you or your device. ImageCarl does not require an account, does not make network requests to our servers, and does not send any information to us or to third parties.
Photos
ImageCarl asks for access to your Photos library so you can select images to use in collages and transformations, and so you can save processed images back to your library. All image processing — collage creation, visual effects, subject extraction, saliency analysis, and pile arrangement — happens entirely on your device using Apple’s on-device frameworks.
Your photos are never uploaded, transmitted to a server, or shared with any third party. They remain on your device at all times.
If you use the Frame feature or the Home Screen widget, ImageCarl reads random photos from an album you choose and displays them on your device. Again, nothing is sent anywhere.
On-device storage
ImageCarl uses iOS’s standard preferences storage (UserDefaults) to remember your settings, such as your currently selected album, your effect preferences, and the thumbnail size. This data is stored only on your device. A small subset of these preferences is shared with the ImageCarl widget via an iOS App Group, which is an on-device mechanism for apps and their extensions to share preferences. Nothing in this storage leaves your device.
No tracking, no analytics, no ads
ImageCarl does not include any analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. It does not measure your usage, does not identify you, and does not build any profile of your behaviour. The app makes no network requests except those required by iOS itself (such as loading photos from iCloud when you have iCloud Photo Library enabled, which is handled entirely by Apple’s frameworks).
Children
ImageCarl is suitable for all ages. Because we collect no data of any kind, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction).
Your rights
Because we collect no data, there is no personal data held by us that you could request access to, correct, or delete. If you wish to remove ImageCarl’s on-device data, simply delete the app from your device; iOS will remove all of its stored preferences.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Because ImageCarl collects no data, we do not expect substantive changes.
