Frequently asked questions
I granted Photos access but ImageCarl still can’t see my library.
Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → ImageCarl and make sure Full Access is selected. Limited Access only exposes the specific photos you picked when granting permission.
The widget is showing old photos or not updating.
The ImageCarl widget refreshes on iOS’s standard widget schedule (approximately every 15 minutes). iOS may delay updates to conserve battery or based on usage patterns. To force an immediate refresh, remove the widget from your Home Screen and add it back, or open the ImageCarl app to trigger a resync.
How do I change the album used by Frame mode or the widget?
Open the Frame tab, then long-press (touch and hold) anywhere on the frame display to open settings. You can change the selected album, adjust the refresh interval, and save the current display from there.
Can I save the image currently displayed in Frame mode?
Yes. In the Frame tab, long-press the display to open settings and choose Save Current. The image is saved to your Photos library at full quality.
Does ImageCarl upload my photos anywhere?
No. ImageCarl processes everything on your device. Your photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with third parties. See our privacy policy for details.
I can’t find the Transform / Frame / Collage feature I saw in the screenshots.
The four tabs along the bottom of the screen are Collage, Transform, Frame, and About. Tap the icon for the feature you want. If you’re coming from a Home Screen quick action, the app may open directly into Collage or Frame.
